    Reasons to Love

    • Customize to your preferences. Want extra sweetness? Add more syrup. Prefer a stronger tea flavor? Steep it longer. A homemade pink drink gives you complete control over what goes into your refreshing beverage.
    • Save money compared to buying it at Starbucks. Let's face it, those daily trips to the coffee shop can quickly add up. Making your drink at home will satisfy your cravings and keep some extra cash in your pocket.
    • Experiment with different flavors and variations. Do you want to add a splash of pineapple juice for a more tropical twist? How about adding fresh berries for an extra burst of fruity goodness? The choice is yours when mixing things up in the comfort of your kitchen.

    Ingredients

With just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up this refreshing beverage that's perfect for summer.

Ingredients for pink drink Starbucks copycat.

To make your very own Starbucks strawberry pink drink at home, here's what you'll need:

    • water
    • Tazo Passion Herbal Tea
    • coconut milk
    • sliced strawberries
    • vanilla extract
    • sugar (or preferred sweetener)

Scroll down to the recipe card for quantities used.

    Instructions

To start this copycat recipe, boil the water in a tea kettle or electric water boiler and gather the remaining ingredients. Then fill a tall glass with the ice and sliced strawberries.

Brewing Tazo Passion Herbal Tea bag in Pyrex cup.

Steep the tea bag in the hot water for several minutes.

Pouring coconut milk into the brewed herbal tea.

Remove the tea bag and let it cool.

Stirring coconut milk into brewed tea.

Stir in vanilla extract and sugar to taste.

Adding the tea mixture to tall glass with ice and strawberry slices.

Pour the tea mixture over the ice in the glass.

Garnish with additional strawberry slices if desired.

Note: Real coconut milk has fats that will separate into small lumps when poured into ice due to solidifying in the colder temperature. This is normal and is not a sign that the coconut milk is bad. This does not happen with the pink drink sold at Starbucks because they do not use real coconut milk.

    Variations

Looking to switch up your usual pink drink from Starbucks? Why not try some alternative ingredients and substitutions to create a unique twist on this popular beverage? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

    • Different types of tea: Instead of using the traditional black tea base, experiment with flavors by using hibiscus or green tea. These options can add a refreshing and vibrant taste to your drink.
    • Adjust the fruit. We like to use fresh strawberries, but you can use freeze-dried strawberries like at Starbucks. You can also experiment with other options like raspberries or blackberries.
    • Alternative milk choices: If you're not a fan of coconut milk, don't worry! There are plenty of other dairy-free options available. Consider using almond or soy milk instead. They can provide a creamy texture while adding their own distinct flavors.
    • Sweeteners swap: Looking for an alternative sweetener? You can sweeten the beverage with honey, white grape juice, or agave syrup instead of sugar. These natural alternatives can add a touch of sweetness without overpowering the other flavors.
    • Boost health benefits. The Starbucks drink is made with their strawberry acai refresher. The refresher contains green coffee bean extract, a popular weight loss supplement with other benefits. So you may want to make the pink drink with some added green coffee bean extract.

Exploring these ingredient alternatives allows you to create a personalized recipe. For a more authentic taste, you can also add some acai berry juice.

    Tips

Top tip: Customize the sweetness of your drink by adding more or less sweetener according to your preference. Options like agave syrup, honey, or stevia can be used as alternatives to traditional sugar.

    • Experiment with different toppings or garnishes like fresh mint leaves or edible flowers for an aesthetically pleasing touch.
    • Chill ingredients before mixing. Keep the fruit juices, tea, and any other components in the refrigerator before preparation.

Following these simple tips, you can easily create your version of the famous pink drink Starbucks at home.

    Serving suggestions

There are a few suggestions that can enhance your experience. First and foremost, make sure to serve it over ice in a tall glass. This will keep the drink cool and provide a refreshing sensation as you sip on it.

Consider garnishing your drink with fresh fruits or mint leaves to add a touch of visual appeal. Strawberries, raspberries, or even slices of lime can bring vibrant colors and flavors to your glass. Mint leaves can provide a hint of freshness that complements the fruity taste of the drink.

For those looking to indulge their taste buds further, pairing the pink drink with delicious snacks or pastries is highly recommended. Whether it's a buttery croissant, a sweet pastry, or even some crunchy cookies, these treats can complement the fruity flavors of the drink.

You can also serve this beverage with other copycat Starbucks drinks like a vanilla bean frappuccino and cold brew coffee.

    Storage

To store, transfer the drink into an airtight container or bottle and place it in the refrigerator. Consuming the homemade drink within 2-3 days is recommended for optimal taste and quality.

I've never actually gotten this at Starbucks but I've always been intrigued by it. This recipe seemed easy enough to give it a try and it's delicious! Probably way better than Starbucks anyway and love that I can control the sweetener. The coconut milk offers the perfect amount of creaminess to this refreshing drink!
