Ingredients
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter softened
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
- ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup white chocolate chips divided (reserve 2 tablespoons for topping the cookies)
OTHERS:
- oil for greasing the tray
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer to 325°F (163°C). Set to 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar with a hand mixer until creamy.
- Add the egg yolk and vanilla, then beat on low until light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt using a spoon or spatula. Then add the mixture to the beaten butter mixture. Combine until no flour streaks appear, but do not overmix.
- Add the white chocolate chips and fold until fully combined.
- Lightly grease the Air Fryer tray and line with parchment paper.
- Scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of cookie dough and place the dough balls at least 2 inches apart.
- Air Fry for 3 minutes, then loosely cover with foil, making sure the sides are completely secured without covering the bottom of the cookies. Continue Air Frying for 7 minutes.
- Once the Air Fryer Oven automatically turns off (after the 10-minute set), leave the cookies with foil in the cooking chamber for 2 minutes.
- While the cookies are hot, lightly press white chocolate chips on top.
- If using an Air Fryer with a basket, place the cookie dough on a parchment-lined crisper plate. Loosely cover with foil after 3 minutes and follow accordingly.
- Remove from the Air Fryer cooking chamber, remove the foil, place the tray on a baking sheet, and allow the cookies to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the tray and serving.
Notes
To make the best tasting White Chocolate Chip Cookie, use quality ingredients: fresh egg, newly opened baking soda and flour, and your favorite brand of white chocolate chips.
The kind/quality of white chocolate chips will greatly affect the cookies.
If White Chocolate Chips are unavailable, quality white baking chips maybe an alternative. Hershey’s Cream Cheese-flavored chips or chopped white chocolate bars can also work.
Cover the white chocolate chips with the cookie dough to help prevent them from turning brown or burning.
Light brown sugar will help prevent the cookies from turning golden brown.
Using an Instant Air Fryer Oven, insert the tray with cookie dough in the middle of the cooking chamber, and place the foil-covered tray on top (1st level), near the heating element. This covers the top of the cookie dough without covering the bottom, preventing it from becoming raw.
Scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of cookie dough (about 1 tablespoon and ½ teaspoon).
Lightly grease the Air Fryer tray with oil before lining it with parchment paper to keep it from flying and covering the sides of the cookie dough.
To prevent the cookies from turning golden brown, cover with foil after 3 minutes of air frying.
Makes 12 servings if 1 cookie per serving. Ideally, 2 cookies per serving, making 6 servings.
