This slow cooker buffalo chicken dip makes a small batch that works well for about 4 servings. It has a warm, creamy texture with shredded chicken throughout, and it is best served hot with chips, crackers, or cut vegetables.
In a slow cooker, combine the shredded cooked chicken, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and ⅓ cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir everything together until well combined.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on LOW heat for 3-4 hours or on HIGH heat for 1-2 hours. Stir the mixture every 30 minutes to ensure even cooking and to prevent sticking.
The dip is ready when the cheese is fully melted and you no longer see chunks of cream cheese.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dip and place the lid back on. Let the dip continue to cook until the cheese on top is melted.
Once fully cooked, garnish the dip with sliced green onions.
Serve the buffalo chicken dip with celery sticks, tortilla chips, or your choice of dippers.
Enjoy this creamy and flavorful buffalo chicken dip!
Notes
Shredded rotisserie chicken works well here if you want a quicker prep option. For a thicker dip, leave the lid slightly cracked near the end of cooking to let some moisture escape. If the dip sits out for serving and starts to thicken, stir in a small splash of milk before serving again. For a sharper buffalo flavor, add a little extra hot sauce after cooking rather than at the beginning.Garnish just before serving with sliced green onions or crumbled blue cheese for more contrast and texture. This dip is best served warm, since it will firm up as it cools.
