Ingredients

  • 4 medium fresh jalapeños halved, deseeded
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or spray

CREAM CHEESE FILLING:

  • ¼ cup cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup freshly grated cheddar cheese divided
  • ¼ tablespoon finely chopped parsley divided (I used flat Italian)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs
  • 3 slices cooked bacon chopped
  • kosher salt to taste (optional)
  • ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Pre-heat Air Fryer at 370°F (188°C). Set at 6 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl mix the filling ingredients except for the breadcrumbs - cheddar cheese, garlic powder, parsley, salt (if using), ground black pepper, cooked bacon, and cream cheese. Set aside.
  • Arrange the hollowed out jalapeños onto the Air Fryer tray, skin side up. Do not overcrowd.
  • Lightly brush each jalapeño with oil (spray, if using). Then flip each jalapeño and do the same.
  • Fill each hollowed out jalapeño with the cream cheese filling. Top with breadcrumbs. Spray some oil if needed.
  • Slowly insert Air Fryer tray into the middle cooking chamber, near the rotisserie catch. Air Fry for about 6 minutes or once homemade Panko breadcrumbs are crisp and golden in color.
  • Garnish with the remaining parsley. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

This Air Fryer recipe uses an Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven. Not all Air Fryers cook the same way. It’s best to keep watch during your initial tests after purchasing.
The 4 halved (totaling 8 halves) jalapeños fit perfectly into 1 Air Fryer tray, with enough space for the air to flow.
If desired, the poppers can be baked at 400°F for about 10 minutes.
TIPS:
Watch the last 1 to 2 minutes while air frying the jalapeño poppers as the topping could easily burn as the Air Fryer heats up.
Add some jalapeño seeds if you prefer and hotter and spicier version.
