Preheat Air Fryer at 380°F (193°C). Set at 25 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine granulated garlic, ground ginger, smoked paprika, dried basil, salt, and ground black pepper.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and a third of the combined spices in a large shallow bowl.
Thoroughly dry all sides of the chicken wings with paper towels. Coat with oil, season all sides with the remaining mixed spices, then lightly coat the chicken wings with the flour mixture.
Transfer the breaded chicken wings, skin side up, to a greased Air Fryer tray and slowly insert tray into the middle cooking chamber, near the rotisserie catch.
If using an Air Fryer with a basket, spread the breaded chicken wings in a single layer on the basket and follow accordingly.
Air Fry the breaded chicken wings for 8 minutes, skin side up. After 8 minutes, lightly brush the wings with the homemade mango habanero sauce. Then flip each wing and lightly brush with the mango habanero sauce, skin side down.
Continue to Air Fry Mango Habanero Chicken Wings for 10 to 12 minutes, skin side down. At the last 5 minutes, smother both sides of the chicken wings with the remaining homemade mango habanero sauce and Air Fry chicken wings, skin side up.
Remove the Air Fryer tray once the Air Fryer Mango Habanero Chicken Wings are crisp and thoroughly cooked, or when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Immediately transfer to a serving plate or bowl and serve with a side of homemade mango habanero sauce.
Notes
Make the Mango Habanero Sauce recipe a day before and refrigerate in an airtight container. This will help the flavors to come together. If you love hot sauces, make an extra batch to serve as a side when making these Air Fryer Mango Habanero Chicken Wings.
During the cooking day, separate the homemade mango habanero sauce into two containers, one for brushing the chicken wings and another for serving.
Do not overcook the chicken wings, it will toughen the meat.
