Ingredients
- 16 ounces ground turkey 1 pound/453.59 grams
- ½ cup finely chopped fresh yellow onion 1 medium
- ⅓ cup dried cranberries
- ⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup all-purpose cream
- 1 medium egg
- ¼ teaspoon granulated garlic
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon rubbed sage
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt add more to taste
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper add more to taste
CRANBERRY GLAZE:
- 250 grams whole cranberry sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer at 375°F (191°C) and set for 45 minutes.
- In a bowl with breadcrumbs, pour heavy cream and mix well.
- In a separate bowl with whole cranberry sauce, pour ketchup and mix until well combined. Then add sprigs of fresh rosemary and cover with the sauce.
- In a small saucer, combine dried rosemary, dried thyme, and rubbed sage.
- In a large shallow bowl with ground turkey, add onions, dried cranberries, breadcrumbs mixture, half of the dried herb mixture, salt, and black pepper. Lightly combine the ground turkey meatloaf mixture.
- In another bowl, beat the egg, pour over the lightly mixed meatloaf mixture and add the remaining dried herb mixture. Mix to combine all the ground turkey meatloaf ingredients but do not over-mix.
- Place the air fryer tray lined with parchment paper onto the baking tray. Add the meatloaf mixture diagonally and form into the desired loaf shape.
- Gently insert the air fryer tray into the middle cooking chamber, near the rotisserie catch if using an air fryer oven.
- If using an air fryer with a basket, place the parchment paper into the basket and add the ground turkey meatloaf mixture diagonally and form into the desired loaf shape.
- Begin to air fry at 375°F (191°C) for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, spread half of the cranberry sauce mixture all over the ground turkey meatloaf mixture.
- Lower the air fryer temperature to 350°F (177°C) and continue to air fry the cranberry-glazed meatloaf for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Add the remaining cranberry sauce mixture over the meatloaf for the last 10 minutes and air fry at a lower temperature, 333°F (167°C) and remove the meatloaf from the air fryer oven once the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the ground turkey meatloaf to rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
This Air Fryer recipe uses an Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven. Not all Air Fryers cook the same way. It’s best to keep watch during your initial tests after purchasing.
TIPS:
The recipe used properly thawed ground turkey, 85% lean and 15% fat.
The recipe used a store-bought whole cranberry sauce, but homemade cranberry sauce would be ideal.
Use the freshest of rosemary sprigs to infuse the minty, aromatic scent into the cranberry mixture.
Instead of using milk, all-purpose cream was used to add more fat content to the 85% lean ground turkey. The cream acts not only as a binder but to create a richer and more tender ground Turkey meatloaf.
Remove the excess grease before adding the first layer and second layer of the cranberry mixture.
