Transfer unsalted butter in a ramekin and place on the Air Fryer tray in the middle cooking chamber, near the rotisserie catch. Melt butter while pre-heating the Air Fryer.
Pre-heat Air Fryer at 300°F (149°C). Set at 10 minutes. (See notes)
In a separate large shallow bowl, mix flour and cocoa powder. Set aside.
Gently remove melted butter from the Air Fryer and pour over brown sugar. Stir continuously for 5 minutes. Pour vanilla extract. Mix well.
Stir in cocoa mixture. Add in 2 tablespoons chocolate chips. Mix well.
In a small bowl, beat egg. Then pour over cocoa mixture. Blend well but do not over-mix the brownie mixture.
Place 4 silicone molds onto the Air Fryer tray. Fill each mold with the brownie mixture. Top with the remaining chocolate chips.
Slowly insert tray into the middle cooking chamber of the preheated Air Fryer. Air Fry brownie mixture for 8 to 10 minutes.
Test doneness after 8 minutes. Insert a toothpick at the middle of the brownie bites. If it comes out clean, remove the Air Fryer tray. If the toothpick is wet, continue Air Frying for another 1 or 2 minutes.
Allow the brownie bites to cool untouched for at least 15 minutes to prevent crumbling.
Gently remove brownie bites from the silicone mold. Avoid touching the chocolate chips on top. Transfer to a serving plate.
Notes
This used an Instant Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven. Not all Air Fryers cook the same way. It’s best to keep watch during your initial tests after purchasing.TIPS:While pre-heating the Air Fryer, simultaneously melt butter to save on energy. If the butter is not completely melted, add 1 or 2 more minutes. Melt butter using a microwave can be an option.Manually adjust the timer to 10 minutes once the silicone mold filled with the brownie mixture is placed inside the cooking chamber.Remove the Air Fryer tray once the sides of the brownie bites are set. The middle part will set once the brownie bites are cooled. These brownie bites are rich and chocolatey without being overly sweet. If you prefer on the sweeter side, add 1 or 2 tablespoons brown sugar. Chocolate taste intensifies after a day. Place in an airtight container and chill in the refrigerator overnight.
