Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt optional
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon milk
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Heat flour in microwave for 30-60 seconds or bake at 350°F/177°C for ten minutes. It should reach a temperature of at least 160°F/71°C. Set aside
  • Combine brown sugar and butter in a small bowl by beating with a fork until creamy. Stir in vanilla extract and salt (if using).
  • Add flour and mix it in until a crumbly dough forms.
  • Stir in milk to create a stiff dough.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.

Notes

Flour should not be eaten raw as it could make you sick. Heating to 160°F (71°C) will kill any germs that could cause food poisoning per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance.
Chill the cookie dough before serving if needed. This allows the butter to harden up so you have a stiffer cookie dough. You can either place it in the freezer for a few minutes or the refrigerator for a half hour to firm it up.
